Important facts you should know before bid:

This unit is directional, that means it only cover an narrow angle. When use it, you have to point it to the source with the white plastic side, not the metal side. With the USB cable point to the ground, it is a vertical polarized setup. Turn it 90 degrees, it will become horizontal polarized setup.To avoid possible network setting problem, plug it into the laptop, disable the built-in wireless card of the laptop, use it very close to the basestation. Make sure it work, then bring it to the PC, try again. Turn the unit to different direction, try to get the best effect. While scan the network, don't more the unit.

If you need a USB extension cable, make sure use a USB "active" extension cable (also known as a USB repeater cable). This cable contains active electronics which boost the USB signal for maximum reliability and performance over extended distances. Those passive cable won't work on long length. A: No, this is a completed solution. This unit is a high gain antenna and the wireless card combo. So all your need is a spare USB port on the computer.

Q: " My laptop has a built-in WIFI adapter, can this antenna boost it?"

A: No, this unit has it's own WIFI adapter. Please disable the built-in card to use this unit.

Q: "I have three computers in my house, how can I use this antenna for all of them?"

A: You can connect this antenna to the computer USB port only. It is designed for one computer.

However, you can use it for internet sharing. Connect it to a PC, this PC(you connect this antenna on) must have another Network card. Connect that card to the router, bridge the two cards, you should be able to share the internet connection to other computers. Maybe there's more IP address setup. Due to the different model of computers and routers, we can't provide further support on this issue.

Q: "Can I connect this antenna to the router?"

A: No, there's a WIFI adapter built-in in the antenna. You can't connect it directly on the router. We can supply directional antenna, sector antenna or Omni antenna and the coax cable to the router. Q: "What's the chipset of the wireless card and who is the manufacturer?" A: The chipset is RT2770 from Ralink, we can provide the driver for Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Linux. Q: "Which active USB cable should I choose, the USB 1.1 or USB 2.0?" A: The WIFI card is USB 2.0, so you should use a USB2.0 cable, it provide higher data speed. Up for sale are some NICE WRT54G2 units that has been flashed with custom firmware. This firmware replaces the original Linksys firmware and adds a multitude of extra and powerful features. This unit has also been loaded with custom configurations, which, as configured, turns the unit into a powerful universal range expander wireless repeater.

This would be a device that you can place anywhere and it will automatically search for the strongest wireless signal, verify Internet connectivity, and then repeat that signal wirelessly onto another network thereby dramatically increasing wireless coverage. It will then periodically scan to be sure it is connected to the strongest open signal. It does not need to be connected to a LAN cable… Simply plug it in within range of any open wireless signal. Just to give you some idea as to how the repeater actually works, basically, the repeater has 2 networks... The "source network" actually connects to an existing wireless signal, just like your laptop, etc. connects to a wireless network. The repeater also has a "repeated network"... This is a separate network that is basically bridged internally from the "source network" for it's Internet connection.... It's wireless SSID "repeater" transmits from the repeater, just as if it were a separate router. In addition to connecting to the repeater's wireless signal, you can also connect to the "repeated network" via Ethernet cable from one of the 4 LAN ports on the back of the repeater.

** This device can also be used as a wireless card for your Blu-Ray XBOX 360, PS3 or Internet ready TV, DVR, etc **

I set these up with 100Mw power output, which is about 3 times the power of standard routers or wireless cards, so the range is fantastic. (I use one of these myself. It connects to signals that my laptop cannot even detect!) Once it is plugged in, all you have to do is have your laptop (or wireless equipped desktop) look for a wireless signal called "repeater". (You can also connect up to 4 computers via ethernet cable to the ethernet ports on the rear of the unit for computers that do not have a wireless card.)

In case you want to repeat a secure signal that requires a password, you would simply log into the device thru your web browser and make the necessary changes. I also include written instructions on how to repeat a secure wireless network, and instructions on how to secure your repeated signal with a password of your choice.
